Unfortunately, too many people live each day not knowing where they’ll sleep that night, and end up out in the cold. Each year, Covenant House, an organization that works to end teen homelessness, runs an Executive Sleepout where leaders of Companies and Organizations of all kinds join together and sleep out for the night. "Sleeping" outside as part of Covenant House's annual Executive Sleepout last year was a humbling experience that I am once again participating in. We heard cars driving by all night, and had street lamps shining brightly on the courtyard where we were placed. We had multiple bonfires set up, but unless you were right on top of it, the heat didn't do you much good. Between the cold air, bright lights, and ambient noise, I had a broken and restless sleep. I am in awe of how someone could truly function the following day, let alone continue to function after nights of that lived experience.
Thank you to all who supported us in this mission last year. If you haven't done so already, please consider donating to our Covenant House team page for 2023 to support them in this sacred work. Click here to donate.
